چکیده

Increasing the production of food from ocean is seen as a pathway toward more sustainable and healthier human diets. Yet this potential being overshadowed by competing uses resources in an accelerating “blue economy.” The current emphasis on growth, rather than equitable distribution benefits, has created three unexamined or flawed assumptions that growth blue economy will lead to food” production, increased inevitably improved nutrition security, mariculture replace marine capture fisheries. In perspective, we argue if research policies are pursued without addressing these “blind spots,” contributions reducing hunger malnutrition, meeting Sustainable Development Goals, be limited. Taking broader food-system approach beyond also considering access, affordability, consumption refocus agenda making while increasing access for those who need it most. contribute 21st century diets sustainable.1Hicks C.C.
